Manga day Dropping meteors for practice
“Oh my god” X3 what a wonderful day for a One piece fan like myself. A happy manga day to all of my Button Smashers Family I hope you spent a bit of the day getting some manga reading done, because this week we had some good reads in the pipeline some of which will have even the most average manga fan jumping like a fan girl.
This week I started my Mangaday as I usually do, by rolling over onto my tab and feeling the cold plastic on my hand. This is the nudge that wakes me on a Wednesday (Mangaday). My mind immediately clicks and I knows that it’s time for me to start downloading Naruto and One Piece chapters (in that order). I open my eyes and push the lock button on the side of my Galaxy tab 2. To my horror as my eyes open they were greeted by a flood of light due to the brightness settings I used from the night before. This, I started to fix by lowering the brightness to almost nothing to allow my early morning eyes to adjust.
Naruto
After Naruto finished downloading I started to read it first. It’s a part of my weekly Mangaday routine that opens my manga reading appetite. This is because most Naruto chapters are written with a consistence of quality that so few other manga fail to reproduce on a weekly basis. This is a testament to how good a writer Kishimoto is. His work has flaws, but it’s like a one, two punch, you may get a “meh” chapter here and there, but you can count on the next one being a big hit. That’s kinda what this weeks chapter is like. The first few chapters are quite frankly amazing with epic action from Naruto and Sasuke on the attack to each of the edo hokage showing a bit of how they got their titles respectively. It is true that the chapter ended a bit confusing to me, maybe something was mistranslated during the subbing process, but regardless of the reason, it was confusing at the end (the last page makes no sense to me).
One Piece
The King of mangaday (Oda) has put out another master piece and you will have to be bat shit crazy to miss this one. This weeks OP was just mind blowing as ever. The real fighting in this ark just started and things are already “over 9000!” (sorry i had to do that). This new admiral (purple tiger as joker called him) is a monster but we already knew that right? wrong. the man uses meteors as playthings and you see when you start using heavenly bodies as your playthings sh!ts going to get real and they have.
Joker hasn’t started to show all his cards yet and for man of his calibre i would not doubt that there are infinite layers to his character. He is the Villain, but just like so many of Oda’s characters you can’t hep but like him as a character, because they are never just black or white. Oda doesn’t not seem to know the phrase one-dimensional and his work shines because of that. Law is as always freaking amazing and he earns my respect for standing by is conviction, even if it’s all part of a plan to buy time. The ending with Usopp is the cherry on top my cake. Well done As usual Oda, well done.
Minamoto-Kun Monogatari
last mangaday i complained about how this manga is dragging on with these damn 9 page chapters, this week is no different really. The action is finally getting started but it has been getting started for so many weeks now. I mean how long does it take for a bloke to put his move on a chick? Oh and don’t get me started on those few pages they waste each week with her constantly changing her mind. I’m sorry but this manga is becoming male cruelty at this point. My advice if you have not read it yet is as i said last time, skip it and wait till the next one and read them together.

There is more to read on a manga day even if it doesn’t come out on a Wednesday. I, myself have a huge back log that i am still trying to catch up to so pick up a few new manga with 100 plus chapters and get to reading manga is not over yet.
