“Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs” First Impressions + Mini Review!

Amnesia-A-Machine-For-Pigs

I had a code sitting in my inbox for quite some time to redeem a review copy of “Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs,” released back in September by The Chinese Room and Frictional Games.  I had heard an awful lot about the first game, but had never played it through.  I was unsure how playing this game without having played the first would be, although I was given to understand that these games are only loosely related and thus playing one does not necessarily enhance playing the other.

To be honest, “A Machine for Pigs” seems to be a different experience altogether.  Rather than relying on a bunch of “boo moments” or in your face scary creatures, this title spends its time building up a narrative to share with the player, adding in very creepy and dread-filled moments, and creating an atmospheric, suspenseful tale. Personally, I have enjoyed it quite a bit, but it is possible that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

Nonetheless, I did an 80-minute First Impressions video for the website Nerdy But Flirty and also wrote a mini review for them.  So, since this was done for them, I won’t post either directly here, but I will link you to the article on the game.

Do check it out, and also please let me know if you really want me to continue with a full playthrough of this game!

  1. A playthrough would be awesome! Especially if there was a facecam. I can just imagine you pissing your pants or going into the corner of the room and me laughing from my screen! 😛 Not to humiliate you, of course. or is it DUN DUN DUN
