“Illusion of Gaia” + “BS Zelda no Densetsu” Retro Fun!

As we continue on in Illusion of Gaia, things don’t get any less strange than they were before! After a long journey through the underground tunnels left behind by the people of Mu, we finally reach the mainland once more. Here, though, we discover a village of “Angels” – humans that seem a bit different from others and whom Neil postulates may be the descendants of the people who fled Mu when it was submerged. Our journey continues at the town of Watermia after we rescue Kara from a strange painter and things between two members of our party heat up a bit. We also have one character finally meet his father, who, like Will’s, had disappeared during an expedition to the fabled Tower of Babel.

Stay tuned to see what happens next!

Some of you may know this, but most probably don’t know that BS Zelda no Densetsu was the very first game I ever did a Let’s Play series on! I covered it way back in 2012 as an “iron man” run to raise money as part of the team at Iron Man Mode. That team and the site associated with it are now long-gone, but the game still stands as the first game I ever recorded! The game is an interesting one too: It’s a 16-bit “reimagining” of the original Legend of Zelda that was broadcast in 1995 and 1996 for the Broadcast Satellaview – an add-on to the Super Famicom in Japan. There are quite a few differences, but personally I really enjoy the challenge and the colorful graphical overhaul the game has received!

Expect the second half of this quest sometime in the near future 🙂
