“Rayman 2: The Great Escape” – New N64 Retro Play Series!

A while back, fellow Button Smashers Blog editor Sade told me that Rayman 2: The Great Escape for the Nintendo 64 was one of her favorite games of all time. In fact, she suggested I eventually do a playthrough of it for YouTube, and I told her I likely would. Truth be told, I actually got this game back in the Fall of 1999 when it first came out, green cartridge and everything, but I only played a little bit of it. I’m not sure why, but it was a game I just never stuck with very far.

Well, this has made it that much cooler to go back and give the game a fair shake. Thus, here we have a brand-new Retro Play series focusing on this game. Now, keep in mind this likely will not be anywhere close to a 100% run of the game, but rather I am just having fun and enjoying playing through it. If you’re cool with that, then you’ll likely enjoy this new series.

In this video, we get through the opening of the game, explore the Woods of Light, and then head to the Fairy Glade. It takes me a bit to get used to how the game controls (yes, I am definitely using a gamepad when playing this one!), but once I get the hang of it, it turns out to be a lot of fun!

I hope you enjoy this one!
