new 3DS feb

The New 3DS has been out in japan since last year 2014 and now its finally gotten a US release date and it’s much sooner than many of us thought. The release date for the new handheld is set for February 13 2015. This is all according to a poster that was leaked yesterday. So are you getting one? which one would that be, the XL or the smaller one? leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

  1. Will there be any games created that are only for the “New 3DS,” or will games continue to work on both devices for the foreseeable future?

    1. They’ve already announced that the Xenoblade Chronicles remake to be compatible only with the New 3DS because of hardware requirements. Other than that game, no other titles have been announced so far, so it’s hard to tell.

There’s also talk about some games having additional functionalities if you play them on the New 3DS, like Majora’s Mask. So if you don’t want to miss out on anything, it’s best to upgrade. Although it’s really hard to say how much you’ll miss out on if you don’t.

      1. I always like to have the newest and best, so I may upgrade. My other question is if transitioning all your software, etc. over from your 3DS to the New 3DS will be an easy process or not?

  2. I’m in the Asia region, which predominantly plays NA region games/hardware. So I really don’t have a choice other than hold out and wait for the regular New 3DS or get the New 3DS XL right away.

          1. I live in the Philippines, middle of Southeast Asia. Games that we get as “Asia versions” are labelled for release in Thailand, Malaysia, and even the U.A.E. sometimes. But they’re essentially for the NA region.

          2. Lol yeah that is true. Its rather interesting really. There’s so much i don’t know about other countries. And with everyone on the internet being so similar in the way they communicate sometimes i take for granted the new amazing things that are different in our countries.
