30-DAY ANIME CHALLENGE! (DAY 19): Most Epic Scene

DAY 19:  Most Epic Scene

SPOILERS BTW SOOOOOOOO TRAVEL WITH CAUTION, YOUNG PADAWAN.

Ok, now that Disney has sued the website, let’s move on with this article.

Aaaand that’s it for the intro.

Let me just cut straight to the chase with something that is truly epic:

Cowboy Bebop, Episode 26:  The Real Folk Blues, Part 2

Right from the get go, we see a character so important in Spike’s life die in the hands of the enemy.  After said death, he returns to the ship to have one last supper with Faye and Jet, foreboding the imminent demise of Spike when he confronts the Red Dragon Syndicate on his own.

But Spike wasn’t going there to die.  He was going to find out if he was really alive.

And this is where all the epicness begins.  From the minute Spike walks into the syndicate HQ, shooting occurs.  All of these action-y moments happen with each floor that Spike goes through.  He keeps running and fighting and running and fighting some more, until eventually he squares off against Vicious, emerging victorious, but suffering from lethal wounds.

And then, in the single most epic moment in all of anime, he limps towards the syndicate’s backup, points a finger at them in a gun-like fashion, and utters the one word before he collapsed.

One word that will be remembered by anime fans for generations to come:

“Bang”.

Seriously, if you’ve seen Bebop, you’d know how amazing this scene is:  heart-pounding action, wonderfully crafted fight scenes, a menacing villain, and a badass main protagonist.  And to top everything off, you have the most BAMF farewell motion made by any anime character EVER.

Honestly, what more can you ask for?

There are a lot of epic moments in anime, so I’m interested at you guys thought was the best.  Although if you’re gonna match it up to something like Bebop, then you better have a good argument ready.

See you in Day 20, Space Cowboy…..
