“Neutopia” – A Zelda-Like TG-16 Gem!

(Part 1)

If you have never heard of the game Neutopia, I guess I’d be lying if I told you I was surprised. Honestly, it’s a game that a lot of people probably don’t know about. It came out on the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989 (1990 in the U.S.), and let’s face it: despite the fact that some awesome games were released on that platform, it never was as well-known as the Super NES or Sega Genesis were.

Neutopia is an adventure game that is heavily inspired by Zelda, though it does add a few new elements to the mix. Despite its clone-like nature, it is a very fun game and does have a lot of nostalgia to offer. And, if you are just someone who enjoys the Zelda formula, but is looking for something else to play, this game might scratch that itch. If Hudson Soft does one thing right, it’s copy other games and make them their own (for real, look up the Wonder Boy franchise!).

Here, you can see all three videos from my streams of this game. It’s a total experience, and one I think you’ll enjoy! And, if you do, you’re in luck! A sequel was released in 1991 that’s much better than this game!
