Japanese Classic Legend of the Galactic Heroes gets English Release
Viz Media Presents the English language debut of Yoshiki Tanaka’s sci-fi novel Legend of the Galactic Heroes on March 8th. For those of you not already freaking out, Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a classic Japanese Space Opera which has also been made into an amazing anime series.
The book has never been available in English and Haikasoru (Viz Media’s Sci-fi literary imprint) will be offering it in digital, print and audio editions.
In the opening novel of the series, “The Golden Brat,” Reinhard von Lohengramm, is a military prodigy and admiral of the Galactic Empire and has ambitions beyond protecting the borders or even defeating the Empire’s enemies. He seeks to overthrow the old order and become a truly absolute – yet benevolent – dictator. His rival, the humble Yang Wen-li of the Free Planets Alliance, wishes to preserve democracy even if he must sacrifice his political ideals to defeat the Empire. Their political and military battles play out over a galactic chessboard in an epic saga fifteen centuries in the making!
The digital version of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Vol. 1: Dawn will be available via the Amazon, Apple, Barnes and Nobles and Google Play App stores and the price for the digital and print versions of the novel are $15.99 US/$18.99 CAN. The audio version will be read by Tim Gerard Reynolds and will be available through Simon and Schuster Audio for $23.99 US.
