Straw Hats going Gold for next One Piece Film
One Piece Film: Gold is the 13th “One Piece” film for the highly popular One Piece anime series. It was also noted in the 1st 2016 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that Eiichiro Oda will be part of the anime movie as Executive producer.
The upcoming Japanese animated film will see the Straw Hat crew on an all new adventure, and like previous OP movies they we’ll get to see our favorite characters in all new unique outfits on a quest that many suspect will reveal more information about the mysterious former pirate king, Gol D. Roger.
Reports also state that anime director Hiroaki Miyamoto, who helmed “One Piece” episodes 352-679 and assistant director for “One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island,” will be part of the “One Piece Film: Gold” as director. The upcoming anime movie will also be penned by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, the scriptwriter of live-action “Black Butler” film, live-action “Liar Game: The Final Stage” film and live-action “The Perfect Insider” TV series.
One Piece Film: Gold is scheduled for release on July 23, 2016 in Japan. There is no information yet about a NA or EU release, however we’re pretty confident that the film will make it’s way to the west given the popularity of the franchise.
