Yakuza 0 Officially Announced for EU

Yakuza 0 EU announcement

SEGA announced this title back in December at the PlayStation Experience for the North American region, but there was no confirmation about a EU release. Today SEGA finally confirmed that Yakuza 0 is headed to Europe as well, as both retail and digital releases!

The characters Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima sprang to life in video games all the way back in 2005, but we got to experience their lives in the midst of their inglorious Yakuza careers, even seeing what life was like after getting out of the organization.

In Yakuza 0, players get to step into the sartorially immaculate shoes of Kiryu and Majima before they became the Dragon, and the Mad Dog (respectively). According to the developer, when the game launches, you’ll get to find out just how bad things can get for a Yakuza foot soldier.

A couple of important reminders from your friendly SEGA PR rep:

  • Even though it was released on PS3 and PS4 in Japan, we are only localizing the PS4 version of Yakuza 0. This also holds true for Europe.
  • It’ll get a physical release as well as digital release. Again, also for Europe.
  • Yakuza 0 is being localized 100% as a SEGA initiative. PlayStation isn’t involved on a production level with this title.

Also If for some reason, you or anyone you know has yet to try out Yakuza 5, dust off your PS3 because it’s now on sale for 25% off! The sale runs through April 5! If you’d like to know our opinion on the game feel free to check out our Yakuza 5 Review.

SEGA is currently targeting a simultaneous release in both NA and EU territories for early 2017. We’ll be sure to update you on any new developments as it relates to Yakuza 0, and other SEGA titles as they become available.
