PES 2021 Update – What All Sports Games Should Be

Due to the effects of the current global pandemic and possibly lets face it – other factors, eFootball PES 2020 should be getting another data pack in the form of a PES 2021 Update. News of the update was leaked by the official Microsoft Store then subsequently taken down. On the store page there was a statement from Konami which read:

“Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, certain real-world football leagues and/or tournaments may undergo sudden regulation changes. As a result, there is a chance that in-game regulations may not perfectly match their real life counterparts. Other changes that impact leagues and tournaments may also be implemented in future updates without prior notice.”

Not much else was revealed about the update other than Konami dropping the licenses for two Seria Teams. This of course coming as a by-product of the monopoly EA has over the Football market. Accordiing to Konami:

The representation of the Club will not be affected in eFootball PES 2020.
*This will not affect your acquired myClub players and can be used as normal in-game.

For the most part it seems like the gameplay will receive a few tweaks. Some new clubs may be licensed, new kits, badges, player faces and our myClub data may be rolled over and thus adding value to those who have invested the time in it.

eFootball PES 2020 is currently available for PC via Steam, PS4 and XBOX ONE. The update will likely release for those systems. No word yet on PS5 or XBOX Series X support.
